Advent and New Year

Advent in the mountains in Lungau in Salzburgerland

Snow has enchanted the wonderful mountain scenery outside, whilst inside the alpine hut a warming fire is crackling in the fireplace. Glistening icicles hang down from the eaves. Switch off from everyday life and leave the pre-Christmas stress behind in the romantic atmosphere of the Alpine world of Salzburgerland.

Silent Night & New years walk

On New Year’s Eve it is then time for merrymaking, dancing, and celebrating; in the morning, after a hearty champagne breakfast, it’s time to go for a walk to an enchanting mountain hut through the Lungau winter scenery, covered in deep snow. There’s no nicer way of seeing the old year out and starting the New Year.

Silent Night, Holy Night

Celebrate with your host family

“Silent Night” is celebrated with the Baier family in the hotel lobby, romantically lit by the Christmas tree lights. You can smell the candles, roasted apples, and mulled wine. Outside, the snow glistens on the trees, the mountains are covered in their white winter splendour: Christmas at the Wastlwirt: feel at home, although you are not at home. Families spend the evening together. For children, there are children’s meals and small presents. Singles and those travelling alone don’t have to celebrate alone.

Did you know that the Christmas Carol “Silent night, holy night” comes from the Lungau? We will be happy to tell you everything about it.
